! IMPORTANT INFORMATION !
As reported in various User Meetings of HTRI and Aspentech, Cal Gavin LTD has developed a Software plug in for these two Heat exchanger design packages.
This plug in will be available for general use in the near future. Existing Users of hiTRAN.SP will be notified automatically. The plug in is free of charge and will integrate to calculate Shell&Tube and crossflow exchangers.
The current Version of hiTRAN.SP has the following features:
Overview:
The Design and Selection Programme
hiTRAN.SP is a Windows based stand
alone application.
The version available can calculate tubeside conditions for shell
and tube exchangers and air coolers equipped with hiTRAN wire
matrix Inserts.
(Standalone tubeside Mode)
It can also calculate a fully optimised design for air
coolers by interfacing with HTRI or HTFS/Aspentech design software.
(Interactive Mode)
Core feature of the hiTRAN.SP program is the so
called hiTRAN Calculator,
You are invited to take a look with some screenshots [click here]
HiTRAN.SP is designed to interact with two of the most commonly
used Software packages to calculate heat exchangers:

HTRI
Xchanger
Suite
|
Supported Features
hiTRAN.SP |
Xace
Simulation, Rating of air-cooled heat exchangers,
economizer bundles, and air preheaters. |
Interactive
mode
hiTRAN.SP can calculate a fully optimized exchanger design by
running HTRI software in the background. Interfacing through
the automatic server capability of X-suite. Retrieving
Geometry, Property and Shell side coefficient data from the
HTRI programme. Revised and improved air cooler design using
the Cal Gavin data correlations for hiTRAN Inserts. |
Xist
Simulation, Rating of single phase shell-and-tube heat
exchangers. |
Standalone
mode
hiTRAN.SP can import the HTRI shell & tube heat exchanger plain
tube design data in order to
calculate an optimized tube side heat transfer coefficient
with hiTran Turbulators. |

|
|
ACOL
Simulation of air-cooled heat exchangers
(ACHE); heat recovery; air conditioning; charge air coolers.
|
Interactive mode
hiTRAN.SP can calculate a fully optimized exchanger design by
running ACOL
in the background. Interfacing through the HTFS Standard
Interface Library. Retrieving Geometry, Property and Shell
side coefficient data from the HTFS programme. Revised and
improved air cooler design using the Cal Gavin data correlations for
hiTRAN Inserts. |
TASC / Tasc+ / Acol+
Simulation of single phase shell-and-tube heat
exchangers. |
Standalone
mode
hiTRAN.SP can import the TASC (Acol+, Tasc+) shell & tube heat exchanger plain
tube design data in order to
calculate an optimized tube side heat transfer coefficient
with hiTRAN wire matrix Inserts. |
Additional features in the hiTRAN.SP
Software package:
In addition to the core calculation program hiTRAN.SP, the
installed Software package comprises additional Information
related to hiTRAN wire matrix elements!
please take a look at section:
